TropicZone Performance Turtle Diet Stage-2 for Baby Aquatic Turtles is perfectly sized for turtles coming from the hatchling stage and will provide for them completely until they reach into the 4-inch size range. This Stage-2 formulation is comprised of the same specially formulated pellet that is utilized in the hatchling formula however 50% of the micro-pellets have been enlarged to a 3/32 inch pellet to account for the growth of the turtles. This has reduced the protein levels down from the TropicZone baby diet by 7%. Fat levels have also been lowered to 8% while still maintaining the complete vitamin/mineral supplementation. As many Aquatic Turtles begin the transition into mature adult turtles, their growth process begins to slow (compared to juvenile growth rates) and their dietary requirements adjust to reflect those changes. TropicZone Performance Stage-4 Sub-Adult Turtle Diet responds to these dietary changes by delivering a 34% protein 7% fat content and balancing the protein source mix to provide an even mix of animal-to-plant proteins. It is this multi- pellet formulation (utilized only by TropicZone) that makes this detailed modification possible. All vitamin and mineral supplementation is continued and pellet sizes are increased slightly to 1/8 and 3/16 inch sizes (to account for the turtles current sizes). For these larger more sedentary adult turtles, being at the end of their growth cycle, proteins have been dropped further to 30% and fats down to 6%. Major protein sources are based more now on plant sources but still contain 25% protein from animal sources. Pellet size is increased slightly to 3/16-1/4 inch to account for final adult sizing and to prevent waste. Larger dried shrimp, dried mealworms, dried black fly larva, and cuttlebone chunks are still included as an additional source of nutrients and activity for the turtles.
